ச:இலங்கை விமான நிலையம் இரவில் மூடப்படுகிறது

விடுதலைப் புலிகளின் விமானத் தாக்குதலுக்கு எதிரொலியாய் இலங்கை தனது ஒரே பன்னாட்டு விமான நிலையமான பண்டார நாயக்கே விமான நிலையத்தை இரவில் 6 மணி நேரங்களுக்கு மூடி வைக்க முடிவு செய்துள்ளது. இதன்படி மே 10 முதல் விமானநிலையம் இரவு 10:30 மூடப்பட்டு காலை 4:30க்கு திறக்கப்படும்.

Airports shutting at night is common in other parts of the world, but given the fact that Sri Lanka has only one international airport and that flights from Europe get in at night, shutting the airport at nighttime is a challenge for airlines.

Officials said the night time shutdown goes into effect from May 10 to give more time for air lines to reschedule their flights.

The airport handles about 70 flights a day and the nighttime shut down would affect 40 percent of them.
