ச:தமிழக காவல்துறை புது முயற்சி

மனித உரிமைகளை மதித்து நடக்க தமிழக காவல்துறையை ஊக்குவிக்க பல புதிய முயற்சிகள் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டுவருகின்றன. 'போலிஸ் இமேஜ் ப்ராஜெக்ட்' எனும் முயற்சி மக்கள் மத்தியில் காவல் துறையினர்பற்றி நன்மதிப்பை ஏற்படுத்த எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளது.

இதில் ஒரு பகுதியாக 85 போலிஸ் தலமை கான்ஸ்டபிள்கள் அவர்கள் பணி செய்யாத வேறு காவல் நிலையங்களுக்குச் சென்று சாதாரண மக்கள்போல குறறகளை பதிவு செய்யச் சென்றனர். இதில் பலர் மோசமாக நடத்தப்பட்டுள்ளதும் சிலர் தாக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதும் தெரிய வந்தது.

தேசிய மனித உரிமை கவுன்சிலோடு சேர்ந்து தமிழகப் போலீஸ் பல முயற்சிகளை மேற்கொண்டுள்ளது.
