தமிழ் நாட்டில் மதுபான விற்பனை புதிய உச்சத்தை எட்டியுள்ளது. இந்த வருடத்தின் முதல் 10 மாதங்களில் ரூ. 7401 கோடிக்கு வியாபாரம் நடந்துள்ளது. போன வருடம் முழுமைக்கும் மொத்த விற்பனை ரூ. 7315.
Record liquor sales in T. Nadu
The Corporation reported a turnover of Rs 7,401 crores for the first 10 months of the current fiscal compared to Rs.7,315 crores for the whole year during the last fiscal, official sources said.
The sales also helped the government earn record excise revenue, which stood at Rs 5,599 crores upto January against the Rs 4,922 crores for the last fiscal, the sources added.
Eight sugar mills with distilleries had been permitted to produce ethanol to the tune of 320 kilolitres per day. Of these, five were supplying ethanol to oil companies for manufacture of five per cent blended petrol, the sources said.
As many as 334 'notorious' prohibition offenders had been booked under several detention acts and 48.28 lakh litres of illicit arrack had been seized from them till January this year, the sources added.

சென்னை, மார்ச் 8: டாஸ்மாக் கடைகள் மூலம் இந்த நிதியாண்டின் 10 மாதங்களில் ரூ.5,599 கோடி அரசுக்கு வருவாய் கிடைத்துள்ளது என்று முதல்வர் கருணாநிதி கூறியுள்ளார்.
இதுகுறித்து அவர் கூறியது: டாஸ்மாக் கடைகளை மூடி, குடிப்பவர்களே இல்லாமல் செய்ய வேண்டும் என்பதில் இருவேறு கருத்துகள் இல்லை. ஆனால் டாஸ்மாக் கடைகளை மூடினால் கள்ளச் சாராயம் பெருகும். அண்டை மாநிலங்களிலிருந்து தாராளமாக கடத்தல் மது இங்கு வந்து விற்பனையாகும்.
அது மாத்திரமல்ல தமிழக மக்களுக்கு தேவையான பல்வேறு சலுகைகளையும், திட்டங்களையும் பல ஆயிரம் கோடி செலவில் நிறைவேற்றிக் கொண்டிருக்கும் நிலையில் டாஸ்மாக் கடைகளின் மூலம் ஆண்டுக்கு எவ்வளவு கோடி அரசுக்கு வருவாய் வருகிறது என்பதைத் தெரிந்து கொள்வதில் தவறு இல்லை. 2005 - 2006-ம் ஆண்டில் ரூ.4,922 கோடியாக இருந்த வருவாய் 2006 - 2007-ம் ஆண்டில் இந்த 10 மாதங்களில் மட்டும் ரூ.5,599 கோடியாக உயர்ந்துள்ளது.
