India’s newly emerging wealthy class is behind an increase in the abuse and trafficking of cocaine, according to a report by the International Narcotics Control Board, a UN-affiliated agency.

Moreover, India continues to be a market and a conduit for heroin – produced domestically and imported from South West Asia – the report points out.
